The Marquee had gone up on the previous Thursday and many helpers
had transformed it into a magical, tropical location fit for an
evening of live music, dancing, refreshments and fun. After
feeding some 200 guests in record time with a choice of either
Chilli con carne or Coronation Chicken with Baked Potatoes, the
band, “Sticky Bun” played a wonderful range of music throughout
the evening. |

Necklaces of beads from New Orleans Mardi Gras were changing hands
for nefarious reasons and favours during the early part of the
evening and a prize was awarded to the guest who had collected the
most beads through either their popularity or their guile. |

The raffle raised a laugh and contributed to the overall profit on
the night of over £2500 which has gone towards Meningitis
Research. |
